Like Crazy

So I watched this movie last night and the beginning was quite boring. As the movie progresses, I was drawn in to the film. The story is about a British exchange student, Anna, who falls for an American design student, Jacob, during her college years in Los Angeles. They became very much in love and after they graduated, Anna decides to stay for the summer to be with Jacob, overstaying her student visa. She went back to England and is banned from entering the United States because of her violation. They face lots of struggles as they try to make a long distance relationship work.

What I love most about this movie is that it feels REAL. Everything was believable. Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones have such great chemistry. They were beautiful together. The film truly captures the glory of being young and madly in love and how distance and time changes everything. Like Crazy has an "open" ending and it really leaves a lot of thought. I viewed the ending as a tragic one for I chose to think that they no longer have the passion and love that they had before. They were both awkward with each other when Anna comes to live with Jacob.

It was a good film except for the boring beginning. I really liked the montage parts of the film. I love the scenes where they are just strolling around and cuddling in bed. They all felt natural. I felt bad for Jennifer Lawrence's character for she really has strong feelings for Jacob. Oh well, at least you have Peeta. =) Others are raving about how the movie sucks and how it is not that great. I suggest you see it for yourself and decide. It was good for me and I think that it shows a side of relationships that other movies don't have. Like Crazy is now one of my favorite films.

"I thought I understood it, that I could grasp it. But I didn’t, not really. Only the smudgeness of it; the pink-slippered, all-containered, semi-precious eagerness of it. I didn’t realize it would sometimes be more than whole, that the wholeness was a rather luxurious idea. Because it’s the halves that halve you in half. I didn’t know, don’t know, about the in-between bits; the gory bits of you, and the gory bits of me."
- Anna

I don’t feel like I’m part of your life. I feel like I’m on vacation.
- Jacob

"I have to say one thing and it’s really important that you just listen to me. It doesn’t feel like this thing is going to go away. It’s always there; I can’t get on with my life. The things that we have with each other are things that I don’t have with any other person, with any other human being apart from you. We should be with each other, and I feel it so strongly … we could make this work."
- Anna

The Hunger Games

I watched The Hunger Games last March 26 and the movie was so good. =) It was beautifully made although I am not a fan of the shaky-camera thing at the beginning. Overall, it was a fantastic film. I was holding back my tears in the scene where Rue died. The cast was amazing. Everyone was perfect for their roles. Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson have so much chemistry, I was squirming in my seat during their cave scenes. I love Josh Hutcherson. =))) I have to say, Alexander Ludwig is smoking hot in this film. I am becoming obsessed with The Hunger Games. I haven't finished reading the books yet but I will get to that after this rant. I know its too early but this must be one of the best films of 2012. Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.

Yesterday, I was appointed as the new Treasurer for A.Y. 2012-2013 in our home organization, Society of Operations Management Students. Next school year will definitely be the highlight of my college years. I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead and I hope that I won't disappoint everyone. To the outgoing executive board, our moderator and department chair, thank you =)

The Hunger Games

Oh, I can't wait for The Hunger Games! I haven't read the novel yet because I have tons of school stuff to do and we are having our final examinations this week. After I finish reviewing for finals I would immediately read the books. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Coffe Bean at Ronac

Last February 29, 2012, I asked my friend Mary Lou to accompany me to Ronac Art Center. I saw a photo on Facebook of the newly opened Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Ronac and I was amazed by how cool it looks. I told my friend that we definitely need to check it out.

I ordered Caramel Ice Blended Coffee and Toblerone Cheesecake. Yummy. :)

Love can wait. Hunger can't.

Mary Lou. I forgot what she ordered but she said it was delicious.

The ambiance of the place is very relaxing. There aren't lots of people (or maybe it was just that day) so I loved it. It was very quiet and I am thinking of going there to review for the final examinations. HAHA. That was just a lame excuse to eat delicious cakes at Coffee Bean. I will definitely be back that's for sure.

Ronac Art Center is located at Ortigas Ave., Greenhills, San Juan, Manila. Philippines.
